Leonie Lange

Leonie is a practicing midwife & herbalist. Originally from Germany, she has lived among the rural peoples of Peru for 29 years. Her early years were spent in the Amazon learning the birthing methods of the indigenous communities. She later moved to the Sacred Valley and continued her education with the local and healers and city doctors. Not only did she become the "village doctor" but her expertise brought to her doorstep travelers from around the world to her birthing house, Casa Lucero.

Leonie's credits include:

• Developed the only birthing center in the Cuzco region, Sacred Valley, Peru
• Created holistic general family practice specializing in infant medicine
• Teaches classes on family violence, family healthcare, women’s health
• Collaborates with local doctors
• Founder and teacher of 28 and 15 day international workshop of midwifery and holistic medicine to health care professionals
• Gynecological exams and treatments for female prisoners in Lima, Peru
• Educates the rural Andean communities on emergency and first aid care, nutrition and family planning.
