Class descriptions Session 1Session2Session3

DeAnna Batdorff

1. INTENSIVE: Breast Health & the Lymphatic System (Immunity)    all levels
The lymphatic system is called Rasa in Sanskrit, meaning the river of life. Keeping this river flowing allows all the tissues to receive nutrients, hormones to communicate, and creates good immunity to cleanse impurities. Many do not know that the lymphatic and the immune system are the same system in the body with two different names. This class will include demonstrations on how to do a lymphatic breast massage, answers to student’s questions about their own breasts, assessments of what the breast tissue needs when imbalanced, and discussion of what tools we can use to support change and prevent diseases. Students will leave with a clear understanding of the lymph system and how to keep it, and our breasts, healthy. There is strength in a river which is flowing.

4. Reclaiming the Divine Feminine as Healer; In Yourself and In the World all are welcome
The divine feminine force is returning into the awareness of our world. As she does, we the women who are listening, are called to live more in tune with the divine feminine source that lives inside of us and through us as the healing energy of power, clarity, compassion, wisdom, love and strength; to name but a few of her faces.

This ritual is both an invocation and a celebration of the highest vibration of the divine feminine as healer living through us as women. In doing so we are called to re-member her at the core of our being as the spaciousness, presence and the divinity that abides there. As we remember this divinity we step into our deepest soul's alignment of being a healing light unto the world. Come and join us as we remember and step into who we truly are.

1. Cleansing and Rebuilding our Body from a Chinese Perspective
How do our bodies get out of balance and develop toxins? How can we cleanse the body of toxins? In Chinese Medicine, toxins are frequently considered “knotted disease” where several pathogens (such as dampness, heat and stagnation) have combined to form “knots”. How can we best rebuild our body? In Chinese medicine rebuilding is just as important and needs to be done at the same time as cleansing. This combination of cleansing and rebuilding “unknots” the pathogen. This class will talk about what a knotted disease is and how to combine herbs to treat it. Although this class can be taken independently, taking it with the class on the Liver and the Spleen will deepen your understanding of the herbal combination theory.

2. The Gan and the Pi or the Liver and the Spleen/ Chinese Digestive System
In Chinese Medicine the Liver and the Spleen have a complicated intertwined relationship where they both help and harm each other. Many chronic diseases, especially related to digestion, occur when this relationship becomes out of sync. We will talk about what each of these organs does from the Chinese perspective, how they affect each other both positively and negatively and how to treat them using herbs and nutrition.

2.Inner Beauty Nature Essences
The Women's Herbal Symposium is an example of a place where girls and women can feel free with our bodies and delight in the uniqueness and beauty of our many different sizes, shapes, and features. In the greater consumer culture, the ideas around beauty and what it means to be a woman are very narrow. This leads many of us to begin to think that we are not absolutely perfect as we are, and we start to criticize ourselves and compare ourselves to others. Because we are being so hard on ourselves, we can become hard on others as well. We will explore some popular magazines to identify what messages are being given to us as young girls and we will then explore what messages we WANT to create for ourselves and want to live our lives by. We will talk about how to choose a life of feeling and believing in our own unique beauty, inside and out.
