Addie Nelson

Addie Nelson with her dogAddie is an outdoor educator, Plant Science graduate, gardener, and lifelong lover of the natural world. She has worked in childcare for over ten years, including teaching at One Cool Earth and Farm & Forest Preschool, where nature, gardens, and outdoor exploration are at the heart of learning. She has also led children's camps and craft programs that encourage creativity, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.

Growing up in a family passionate about plants, Addie learned herbalism, plant identification, and gardening from her mother and has been attending NCWHS since childhood. Her experiences working on farms and in greenhouses have further strengthened her connection to plants and sustainable growing practices.

Today, she enjoys sharing her love of gardening, foraging, herbal traditions, and nature-inspired crafts with children. Her workshops encourage young learners to slow down, observe the natural world, and discover the wonder that can be found in every leaf, flower, and seed.
