Poke is a Big Powerful Magical Plant but it can be a lot of Fun too! We will talk about Poke Plant safety and dangers. We will play with Bibiana's big Poke Plants and her gorgeous berries in a safe way. Join us in exploring Poke Medicine together.
We will share our home altars with each other, giving mini-tours of them with stories of their meaning and composition. We all have sacred spaces in our homes and yards, now we can share them with pictures/video/zoom and inspire each other.
Our stress responses, and specifically our limbic systems, help us detect and escape danger. Yet, if these pathways are chronically activated due to prolonged stress or injury, we can get stuck in a state of hyper-vigilance, which influences our thinking and behavior and negatively impacts our physiology. In this two part class, we’ll review the impacts of chronic stress and limbic hyper-arousal, and then we’ll gather tools for building resilience. We’ll explore mind-body practices, along with herbal and nutritional strategies for rebalancing stress responses and nourishing the nervous system.

The lymphatic system is called Rasa in Sanskrit, meaning the river of life. Keeping this river flowing allows our tissues to receive nourishment, which is the secret to being and looking healthy. Our lymph fluids allow hormones to get from one endocrine gland to another and play an important role in our reproductive health. The lymphatic system is also called the Immune system, which we all know is important for fighting foreign invaders and staying healthy. There will be demonstrations on how to map the lymphatic system in your body with an emphasis on breast health. There will be time for Q &A about our breasts and immunity and what tools can support change and prevent diseases. Students will leave having a clear understanding of the lymph system and how to keep it and their breasts healthy.
There is strength in a river that is flowing

In the Buryat shamanic tradition, a Peace Tree Ceremony consecrates a sacred tree to be a bridge between the worlds of the living and the dead, the visible realms and the invisible realms. When it has been consecrated and empowered, the tree becomes a road for the negative, trapped, or suffering spirits to leave the world and for the energies of this realm to be rebalanced, refreshed, and renewed. This ceremony has been shared with the world, and all are welcomed to partake in it. The Peace Tree Ceremony is one way we can acknowledge that our well-being is intimately connected to the well-being of each other, the ancestors, and Mother Earth. Please feel free to bring a drum or rattle and/or a few coins or flowers to give as offerings during the ceremony. Yeshe learned this ceremony from the teachings of Sarangerel, a Buryat shaman who helped to rebuild the tradition of shamanism in Russia and Mongolia after the Communist ban on it was lifted in the 1990s.
When we heal our relationship with the dead, we heal ourselves. When we honor those whose examples helped shape our lives, we create joy for our lineage. During this class, Yeshe will share information about ancestral herbal practices from many different corners of the world. Women will be encouraged to group together to explore the traditions of their own heritage more deeply, to bring forward practices that they have inherited, and to create simple herbal blessings that will be share with the group at the end of the class. This will be a wonderful way for us to explore how we might honor the benevolent ancestors, heal the legacies of pain that might be present in our bloodlines, and connect with one another's cultural traditions in a sensitive and generous way.
Recent advances in the therapeutic use of psychedelics have opened doors previously closed in the North American medical establishment, and have opened minds to critical inquiry about the racism and sexism that have caused western medicine to alternately condemn and co-opt psychedelic medicines. For many years, psychedelics were demonized by traditional medical institutions, yet now they are becoming popular subjects of study. In this presentation, Yeshe will offer a feminist perspective on the the history and modern use of therapeutic psychedelics, with specific inquiry into the tension between traditional and modern approaches to psychedelic healing. Our class will also examine ways to support those who practice these plant medicines in their original, indigenous context. Psychedelic medicine is one of the most powerful methods for decolonising the mind that is currently available. How can we be of service to the highest good, as stewards of traditional healing ways? Please note: no actual psychedelic material will be consumed at this presentation.
Crones
Crones have had some (almost) universal experiences as the pandemic altered our lives, and yet our experiences also have qualities as unique as our fingerprints. This will be a time of sharing our experiences—the good, the bad and the ugly. You may want to share your process over these months, and/or your present situation may be important for you to talk about.
What have been/are the greatest challenges or hardships? Where has growth occurred? What are the blessings? How does your stage of life affect your choices and behavior? Have you been able to call on your inner wisdom? What do you hope you retain when/if our lives return to something like the old normal?
Please bring your stories to our virtual circle, so that we can learn from and support each other. (We understand that some of your experience was probably frustration with conflicting information, mandates and other government responses, citizen behavior in your community and/or conflicts with friends or colleagues--or similar areas of frustration. It is fair game to describe your frustrations in this forum, but important that we stay in the mode of loving mutual support and not turn to debating or ranting!)
